If unable to follow suit, any card can be played. A trick containing a spade is won by the highest spade played, while a trick without a spade is won by the highest card of the suit led.

Spades cannot be led until a player has played a spade or the leader has only spades left in hand. The winner of each trick leads to the next, and the game continues until one team reaches 500 points.
